Statement of Intent to Register
Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) or Admission Acceptance or Enrollment Confirmation procedures have been instituted by CSU campuses and monetary deposits may be required. Applicants who have been offered admission should notify the campus of their acceptance and if required, make a deposit by the specified campus deadline.

The enrollment deposit is applied as payment against the tuition fee payable at the time of registration for students who matriculate. An enrollment deposit may be forfeited for a student who does not enroll.

Students eligible for need-based financial aid and/or fee waivers may or may not be required to pay the deposit.

Deadlines and deposit fees are subject to change without prior notice. Students should check with the specific CSU campus where they are admitted for up-to-date information.

Orientation Requirements

The following steps must be completed to satisfy your Orientation requirement:

1. You are required to complete an online General Education advising session as well as college specific advising in order to register for classes. This information will be provided in the coming weeks through your CSUF email and/or portal.
2. Fill out the Orientation RSVP Form so that we can gauge your interest in Welcome Week activities. The RSVP form is open and can be completed any time through June 1st. 
3. You are required to complete the Online New Student Orientation module by Sunday, August 23, 2020. Access and online payment information will be provided beginning August 1st through your CSUF portal. This online orientation will take approximately 45-60 minutes to complete. The orientation fee this year will be reduced to $20.00.

Acceptance of admission
Each campus that accepts you for admission will issue you a Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) form or direct you to a website where you can declare your intent to register. Use this form or website to indicate whether you accept or decline the admission offer.

You are strongly encouraged to wait until you hear from each campus you have applied to before you declare your intent to register.

Transfer students admitted for fall must submit the SIR by June 1.

For most campuses, the SIR submission process is online. However, if you are required to mail a paper SIR form, it must be postmarked by these dates. Applicants admitted at a later date or for the winter or spring term should respond by the deadline indicated in the offer of admission.

You may accept admission to one campus only. You may not transfer your acceptance from one campus to another after you declare your intent to register. A $250 nonrefundable deposit must accompany your acceptance.
