The staff at the Transfer Center is dedicated to helping our students
succeed in their educational goals. We offer the following
transfer-related workshops
throughout the year to inform and assist students with transfer basics,
university application, and student development. Below is a quick list of

| CSU Long Beach Admissions Seminar | |
| The Beach is hot! The popularity of Long Beach State and the current budget crisis has affected the admissions selection to this highly popular CSU. | Pathways to Teaching | |
| ATTENTION FUTURE TEACHERS! The representative from California State University, Fullerton, Center for Careers in teaching, will be hosting a Pathways to Teaching seminar for those students who are interested in teaching. | Transfer Basics: CSU & UC | |
| The majority of our students will transfer to a CSU or UC; however, many students do not understand how the transfer process works. This workshop will cover the basic transfer requirements to the CSU and UC. Topics covered will include: how to pick transfer courses, choosing a college and major, online and printed transfer resources, application deadlines, the critical courses for the UC and the CSU system, and much more! | Transfer Seminar: Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) | |
| HBCUs are a source of accomplishment and great pride for the African American community as well as the entire nation. HBCUs offer all students, regardless of race, an opportunity to develop their skills and talents. These institutions train young people who go on to serve domestically and internationally in the professions as entrepreneurs and in the public and private sectors. | Transfer Seminar: Women's Colleges | |
| Women’s colleges are colleges that identify themselves as having an institutional mission primarily related to promoting and expanding educational opportunities for women. Most institutions of higher education currently have majority female enrollments; women’s colleges have predominantly female enrollments. Want to learn more? | There are well over 75 accredited colleges and universities in the state of California each of which have differ in their major offerings and educational missions. | Transfer Cafe | |
| Each year, the Transfer Center staff teams with the English and ESL faculty to provide students with last-minute assistance with their UC personal statement. This event is held during our Application Rush Week and will be your last chance to get assistance with your UC personal statement. Coffee will be provided! | Mon.

| UC Admissions Panel | |

| UC Personal Statement Workshop (A three-part series) | |

The UC and
most private campuses will require a student to write a personal
statement (essay). The Transfer Center is offering a three-part
workshop series to help you write a top-notch personal statement.
The three-part series is designed to encourage you to begin your
essay as soon as possible and avoid the common mistakes and pitfalls

| UC Transfer Admissions Guarantee (TAG) Prescreening | |
| Want to increase your chances of being accepted to select UC campuses? TAGs are just the thing you need to give you an assurance of transfer especially during these times of tight budgets.
